The greater majority of mankind and about 90% of its nations are not sharing in the saga and the privilege of hosting mega-sport events and that, mostly, because of economic deficiency. It amounts to no less than discrimination on economic grounds which are incompatible with the Olympic spirit and the charter of principles of the Olympic movement.
The presentation intends to elaborate on a conceptual framework of a solution approach, centered on a design of a Floating - Transportable array of sport facilities which could be rented to the interested parties for the duration of the event.
The ‘Olympic Fleet” may include the Olympic Mega-Stadium, for 150.000 spectators, Olympic villages, miscellaneous land and aqua sport facilities, management communication and servicing module.
Weaving the ‘International Sport University’ (mostly for the underprivileged) into the proposed set-up is natural and logic evolution, meant to take advantage of the existing facilities and share in the rich, educating and inspiring sport environment around.
The proposition describes the architectural – structural design principles of some of the ocean going facilities while reserving the appropriate attention to servicing, logistics and economical viability of the vision and the enterprise.
